Katarnia ghat sanctuary is situated at the Nepal-india border in the behraich district of uttar Pradesh. It was long time back when my father was posted their and I was about 12 years of age. Away from all kinds of banal world it lies in the lap of nature which is still unexplored. Surrounded by a thick evergreen forest of about 40 sq Km which contains every kind of flora and fauna.The best season to visit is winter when you get up from the bed and hear morning hymn by the beautiful migratory birds and when you try to catch them they just disssappear somewhere in the fog. Amidst the green trees a clean colony could be seen where we used to live. when the charm of the scene leave you spellbound you see a man walking far away which help you to realise that this is paradise on earth and the magnanimity of the Goddess Gaea is at its zenith.The best thing to do is just sitting in the lap of nature and feeling the beauty of it.(believe me you’ll feel that).Dusk comes a bit early in the evening which could again drive you crazy.This is the lonelines where we get peace ,which assuage all our mental pain and rejuvenate us for this world of harsh reality.Thus ending this with an admonishing sentence that beware of wild animals specially in the night as everything is real there.
